NON-SURGICAL TREATMENTS

The majority of our patients receive non-surgical treatments and have excellent results. It is very satisfying when we can eliminate a patient’s pain and get them back to doing the activities they love without surgery. Non-surgical options include oral medications, splinting/bracing, strengthening/stretching exercises, mobility devices, shoe adjustments, thermal therapy, physical therapy, and corticosteroids injections.

SURGERY

Dr. Tobin will explore all treatment options with you. If after considering all the options, surgery is your best choice, Dr. Tobin and his staff will help you prepare. In order to give patients a choice as to which hospital he performs your surgery, Dr. Tobin has met the qualifications and been granted admission to the surgical staff at the following regional hospitals/surgical facilities: St. Joseph and Candler hospitals in Savannah, Hilton Head Hospital, and The Outpatient Surgery Center of Hilton Head.
We will work to obtain pre-authorization from your insurance company for the surgery. We will also help coordinate your care after you leave the hospital.

X-RAYS

We provide full X ray services in our office. Our X ray techician will have the X ray results for Dr. Tobin to review within minutes. This allows you and Dr. Tobin to look at the X ray together so he can answer any questions you might have.

MRI's

If Dr. Tobin has recommended an MRI for you, our staff will coordinate scheduling an MRI with an outside MRI facility and we will contact your insurance company regarding your benefits and approval for the MRI. An MRI is a very important diagnostic tool. Dr. Tobin will recommend an MRI facility he knows will provide the highest quality MRI images. Any MRI is not good enough. You want the best MRI available so the information in the MRI is accurate and Dr. Tobin can confidently rely upon that information when making a treatment plan recommendation.

ORTHOPAEDIC EQUIPMENT/SUPPLIES:

You don’t need to go to a medical supply store. We have available in our office most orthopaedic medical supplies and equipment. We also can help you select and order custom braces or splints. Should you need custom shoe orthotics we can make arrangements for your fitting. We will work with you to submit claims to your insurance for these supplies/equipment.

Some of the items we have available in our office are:
Crutches, Walking boots, Wrist and hand splints and braces, knee braces and immobilizers, over the door traction devices, shoulder pully devices, fiberglass casting supplies, cast boots, arm and shoulder slings, ankle braces, tuli’s heel cups for shoes.

PHYSICAL THERAPY

Our in office physical therapy is provided through Score Sportsmedicine, LLC. The physical therapy team is dedicated to improving the well-being of individuals of all ages using one-to-one approach in order to provide personal care and attention. Dr. Tobin works closely with the Physical Therapist to develop a personalized plan of care for your specific needs. Throughout your physical therapy treatment, Dr. Tobin is on-sight and available to help evaluate your progress. He doesn’t just receive a written report, he sees you as you are receiving your treatment. Being in the same office allows Dr. Tobin and the Physical Therapist have face to face discussions regarding your physical therapy treatment.

WORK INJURIES

When you are hurt while on the job, you need a physician group experienced in Workers’ Compensation Issues. We have years of experience helping patients navigate what can be a complex system of Insurance assigned Nurse Case Managers, Case Adjusters and often Attorneys. We will work to make sure you receive the care and treatment you need. We are happy to coordinate your care with your Workers’ Compensation team.
